Sign up for Go Play Manchester Online May 2nd/3rd 2020

And here we go, sign up for the next instalment of GPMO online is up and live!

1. Review the games available.

Saturday

Sunday

2. Fill out and submit the following form.

[Event passed form removed]

3. Please note by signing up to Go Play Manchester you are signing up to the event not a particular game. Please give 1st and 2nd choices for the days you are attending. It makes it easier for me as the organiser to allocate players to games and makes sure that none of the GMs is without players. If you do only want to sign up for one particular game, please note you will have a lower priority for allocation to that game than someone who gives me a 2nd choice.

4. Once all the games are full, by Friday at the very latest I will email you with a link to the page which has the game allocation on. The GMs will then contact you via email with instructions on how to join.

Any questions please contact us. Also if you can not make it please let us know before the game so we can reallocate your place.

This is Not an Exercise

System: River of Heaven (D100 sci-fi)
GM: Newt
Day/Time: Sunday 3rd May 1 – 5 pm.

This is Arnold, the Ship’s AI, thank you for your recent enquiry.

“Where and I’m I and how did I get here?”

Ok, let’s review your situation.

You’re a member of the crew of the star-ship Asher. A merchant vessel working out of Jericho and shipping luxury goods to the worlds of the Kentauran Hegemony.

This job has a high turnover, and you’re a newcomer, one of six, joining an existing crew of three old-timers. Due to the importance of this job, the company has chosen to be completely compatible with one another via a series of biometric and psychological tests you went through during selection.

Even with the short jumps in the hold of a Step Ship, where the Asher will be one of many vessels its carrying through the wormholes that its Visser Cube creates, it’s a long-haul job. Where you are going to spend most of your time in cryostasis, with your mind occupied in VR. It’s a bit like dreaming, but you’re in charge, and it’s all a computer-generated.  You are in VR-sleep now. You are on route to Turan-Prime, a round trip that will take approximately 23 years.

Occasionally I, Arnold, will run disaster-scenarios, to gather data for my risk-management processes. Do not be alarmed if you appear to be woken up abruptly from Cryo-Sleep with the ship’s systems flashing red and stating, “This is not an exercise!”. Please play along to allow me to gather data efficiently for your health and safety.

Such a disaster scenario is about to run soon

The Werewolves of Manhattan

System: Monster of the Week
GM: Blythy

Day/Time: Saturday 2nd May. 1.30pm

A spate of brutal attacks and sightings of strange animal-like people in the Hell’s Kitchen district of Manhattan has lead to stories of werewolves on the rampage. No sane person would believe that, of course. And neither do you as seasoned monster hunters – werewolves have evolved to hide their existence well. So what’s going on? It’s either not werewolves at all or it is and their numbers are increasing and dangerously out of control..

Coddefut’s Stipule

System: Lyonesse (Mytras D100 fantasy)
GM: Chris Hart

Day/Time: 10.00 – 1.00 Saturday 2nd May.

Morribund, the burgher of the town, has called for you to investigate the disappearance of fishing vessels around Silkspindle Island. Boats have been pulled under the water. You have little choice in the matter as Ordinance 4c, subsection 8 is clear on the civic duty for the individual to assist in the safety and well-being of the town. Maybe you’ll get a chance to avenge the pugnacious Moribund, but until then, you’ll need to travel to Silkspindle .

Lyonesse is an upcoming RPG based upon the Lyonesse series of novels by Jack Vance, using the Design Mechanism’s D100 system Mythras.

The Tarston Mystery

System: Heroic Fantasy (based on The Black Hack)
GM: Udo Kaiser
Day/Time: Saturday 2nd May 1 – 5 pm.

You and your friends went to the ruins of Kryador and all survived. You found the treasures you hoped for and much more. The trolls, giant spiders and Devildwarfs were dangerous but you and your companions overcame all of them.

Back in Tarston you sold a lot of the stuff you found and now life is easy. You live in the best inn of the capital, the “Golden Swan”, and enjoy a life you have not experienced before. In the eyes of the city you are now very successful explorers. It is only a matter of time until someone will offer you new adventures and opportunities.

4-5 players, Pregen characters, System: Heroic Fantasy, Roll20 Graham Spearing’s Heroic Fantasy is a very streamlined fantasy roleplaying system. It should be fun for long-serving D&D or Runequest fans but is as well an opportunity for new players to experience an RPG for the first time.

Edge of Destruction

System: Paleomythic
GM: Paul Mitchener

Time/Day: 1-5pm Sunday 3rd

Winter is coming early, and food is running short. The chieftain is dying, and beast-men have captured the head mystic of the village. Crows are circling above, harbingers of doom. The gods seem to have deserted the village, and only you can save it.
Join us in a stone age and sorcery epic adventure before the dawn of time!

Please note A Touch of Sun (Beyond Dread Portals) isn’t running due to zero signups. I’m taking this as a sign from the Universe to get out in the sun and do some gardening 😀

Thanks for everyone for pulling this together at such short notice.  Future GPMOs will have a longer lead-in time 🙂

A Touch of the Sun

System: Beyond Dread Portals
GM: Newt Newport
Adventure by Paul Mitchener

Day: Sunday 12th April
Time: 1-5pm.

You joined the Ysian Explorer’s Guild to pursue a life of adventure, to get away from the drab and desolate streets of the City of Ys. Which every day is getting colder and greyer under the boney fist of the undead Autarch.

So now a job that offers just that. The Emerald Order have a job to investigate a magical doorway that leads to a tropical paradise. So easy peasy just a quick exploration job, go through the portal and write a quick review for the Emerald Order when you get back from your little holiday. Shame the portal is in an abandoned house that’s gained a reputation of being haunted.

Beyond Dread Portals is a fantasy D20 game of exploration and wonder, using a straightforward system derived from D&D with some narrative elements. We are calling it post-D&D. The characters are 3rd Level, and are capable and sometimes flamboyant explorers, in the multi-planar worlds of the Empire of YS.
