You are a survey team working for Chigusa Corporation, en-route to one of CC’s asteroid mining operations when you’re unexpectedly told to make a diversion. A team of scientists have sent out a distress beacon requesting assistance. Their ship is crashing into JWL-5, a lifeless planet with a toxic, corrosive atmosphere. They need rescue before their supplies run out and they succumb to the planet’s poisons. It’s a routine job. Go in, pick up survivors, get out. What could possibly go wrong?

In the slave ship, your ragtag band of adventurers are getting a free ride to the Lost Lands of Grungamesh. The land is full of ancient ruins, untouched by looters. You share this hold with a group of Melonfarmers from the old country, who are making the long voyage into the unknown in the hope tier new land is more fertile. Amongst the hope and excitement, there is fear. They talk about a haunted tower on the edge of the lands they are going to take up. An old sorcerer’s tower that glows eerie in depths of the night. Apparent their new Lord and Master has been talking about sending someone up there to sort it out. People have been going missing, the previous tenant farmers they say. Where your new farmer friends see terror, you see adventure.

The notorious murderer Bolten Scarrsdale, also known as ‘The Finger Eater’, has escaped incarceration in Great Lunden Gaol. As officers of The Peekers, the Great Lunden city watch, you’ve been charged with searching your ward in case “The Finger Eater” is hiding there. You’re hoping he isn’t – you’re fond of your fingers and would like to keep them! Surely he will have fled the city. But then nothing is quite as you would expect about him. Why, for example, wasn’t he executed like other murderers? And there are tales of him regularly receiving a strange masked visitor at the Gaol.
Best Left Buried is a rules light grim and perilous fantasy game. The Midderlands setting and its capital city, Great Lunden, are a fantasy version of medieval Britain with a dash of horror and dark humour.

But as they check into their lodging house, they overhear another guest complaining about the disappearance of his beloved walking cane from his room. Who is behind the theft, and how does it link to a bizarre rash of petty crime currently affecting the city?

The Giant of Horcum
The Hole of Horcum, on the North York moors, is a vast hollow half a mile across. In folklore, it is said that a giant called Wade created the hole when he scooped up a vast fist full of earth to hurl at his wife during an argument.
In the world of Liminal, there is truth in folklore, and a giant was recently spotted in the area. Meanwhile, a local village has fallen victim to a mysterious malady. The player characters must of course investigate.
The Isle of the Dead
In the Kingdom of Tura when monarchs die, they make the final journey to the Isle of the Dead. It is an arduous journey that only royalty may make. The corpse is prepared by the priesthood of Tura and then is taken overland to a secret port, where a boatman takes the body to the Isle and from there it passes through the Door to Eternity into parts unknown.
Only the Brotherhood of Tura knows that something has gone wrong with the delivery of the last King. Now they must get a group of foreigners together to find out what has happened. Perhaps these chosen ones will get the opportunity to peak through the Door of Eternity and see what is on the other side?

And someone else has to work out, “how much?” That’s where you come in.
In this Lovecraft-inspired session, you will play one of a small band of bureaucrats and skilled civilians assigned the onerous task of inspecting and assessing the island settlements of The Brume, a remote archipelago on a recently reconquered human colony. This session will focus on investigation and mystery, with the potential for action and gore.
